An unmissable stop on most Doha itineraries, the stunning Museum of Islamic Art is one, if not, the capital city’s most popular tourist attraction. The museum is rather a recent addition to the city, with its doors opening just in November 2008, but some of its artefacts and masterpieces date back as far as the 7th century. From calligraphy to Islamic patterns, and jewellery and textiles, visitors are welcomed to tour an impressive collection of items from three continents. Wrapping up your tour, head out to the outdoor terrace on the top floor of the museum, which affords breathtaking views of Doha’s world-class cityscape.
