Explore Pattaya Floating Market

Pattaya Floating Market is an authentic attraction showcasing the life and livelihoods of the Thai riverside community that dates to ancient times. Offering local products from 4 different regions of Thailand which is quite a spread, some of the vendors sell their goods on boats while others sell their wares from stalls of the stilted village. There are covered walkways and bridges to get across to different stalls. Pick attractive souvenirs, clothing, food, and works of art at attractive prices. Entertainment with cultural performances happens each evening drawing crowds of visitors from resorts in Pattaya, Thailand.

Try thrilling Ziplinig

While many adventure sports are possible ziplining is popular in Pattaya due to the thrilling experience and the wonderous vistas one can experience from a height as one zips across the cable. Park Tower Pattaya is a good location for ziplining letting you glide through nature’s lush greenery from the 56th Floor of the tower near Jomtien Beach and witness the turquoise-blue bay and the beach underneath as you are carried down on the zipline adding a rush of adrenaline as you speed across.

Embrace the green oasis of Nong Nooch Botanical Garden

Spread over 200 hectares of landscaped gardens this is the largest botanical garden in Thailand and is often visited by guests using properties like Avani Pattaya Resort. This garden showcases some of the remarkable blooms one can witness with vibrant tropical colours. A recreation of Stonehenge, a French-style Garden, a garden of cacti, a section with bonsai, and mastery in topiary displays can be witnessed as you walk around. Adding excitement to the visit are Thai Dancing. Drumming and Boxing that offer a glimpse into the Thai culture.

4

Seek wisdom in the Sanctuary of Truth

Situated in North Pattaya, the Sanctuary of Truth, built in 1981, is a magnificently detailed wooden castle by the sea. It stands 100 meters tall and spans 100 meters wide. All its meticulous carvings and beautiful sculptures of mythological figures of different religions and cultures are considered to reflect philosophical wisdom. This is the largest wooden structure in Thailand using ancient Thai carpentry techniques which means no metal nails or pins are used. Each piece of wood is held together with wooden wedges, pins and slots. There is so much beautiful work and craftsmanship within the castle as you walk about. However, as the wood used is neither treated nor protected by chemicals, parts of the structure decay and must be replaced just like human life.

Be awed at Wat Phra Khao Yai

Wat Phra Khao Yai is aptly named Big Buddha Temple. The statue of Buddha is indeed quite imposing; it is a seated statue of Buddha at 18 m in height. As it is erected to face Pattaya and Jomtien beaches from its high position on the hill, the Big Buddha statue rises to nearly 100 m above sea level. The temple complex surrounding this statue is an active temple with devotees coming to pray and pay homage to Buddha. A visit here makes one feel the serenity of the religious place of worship and experience a feeling of awe at the statue and the amazing view of the surroundings. The visit here will remain etched in your memory.
