Masroshi

Waking up early to witness the majesty of sunrise in the Maldives is a profound experience. Many visitors cherish this wonderful sight during their stay. This is an ideal time to linger, admire the natural beauty, and enjoy a leisurely breakfast. A popular choice for Maldivian breakfast is Masroshi, a flatbread filled with a delicious mix of shredded tuna, grated coconut, onion, chili, and spices (called Mas). It's a zesty starter to a great breakfast.

3

Mas Riha

This is a Maldivian Fish Curry. The main ingredient fish is sourced fresh, and a variety of authentic spices are used to give the dish an inviting aroma and flavour.  Special spices such as cardamom, ginger, garlic, scotch bonnet, and cinnamon are mixed with the chopped fish at different times as it is being cooked along with coconut milk. This is a yummy dish mostly enjoyed with rice or bread (roshi) for lunch or dinner.

4

Saagu Bondibai

This is a delicious Maldivian dessert. Sago pearls are warmed with coconut milk and flavoured with rose water and cardamoms. Once the sago pearls turn tender creamy condensed milk is added and served with chopped fruits and roasted nuts.

5

Baajiyaa

This is the Maldivian version of Samosa, and this snack comes with many fillings. One filling is like Masroshi filling with tuna, while a vegetarian version is made with potato replacing tuna. The filling is covered in dough and deep-fried to crispy perfection and will be served at all-day dining venues.

6

Mugu Rihaa

This is a dhal curry often enjoyed by vegetarians. The preparation of this curry excludes any kind of fish or meat. However, it includes coconut milk to make it filling and creamy. Muga Rihaa is tasty with steamed rice and bread (roshi). Non-vegetarians also enjoy this dish by combining Mas Riha in the meal.

7

Kukulhu Riha

Kukulhu Riha is chicken curry with spice. Chunks of cleaned chicken are marinated with a spice mix of ginger, garlic, black pepper, chilli and cardamoms. Once it is well coated, the chicken is cooked in coconut milk adding curry leaves until the meat is soft and the dish is aromatic. Similar to Mas Riha this is tasty with steamed rice or bread.
