Perak Tong is the most renowned cave temple in Ipoh, located at the foot of a limestone hill. The eye-catching red and white temple on its premises is a major attraction. If you travel to the back of the temple, there is an outcrop which provides panoramic views of the surroundings when you climb to the top.

Sam Poh Tong temple

This scenic temple is dedicated to the goddess of mercy, Guan Yin Tong and is located in Gunung Rapat. Visitors to the temple will be able to view over 70 statues of the goddess within the temple. A unique feature is the Japanese-style wishing mountain – which is believed to grant the wishes of those who visit the temple. Ling Sen Tong temple

This is a Taoist temple, known for its distinct architecture and colourful design. With its red pillars, yellow roofs and vibrant motifs, it’s a delightful place to explore. The temple’s name means "Rock of Heavenly Spirits", and indeed, there are many statues of animals at the entrance that seem to guard the temple. These represent the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac, including the monkey and dragon. There are also statues of deities and characters from folklore.

Dong Hua Cave temple

The Dong Hua temple is one of the best-maintained temples in the country, as well as one of the most visited. Famous for its limestone formations, there are also underground temple shrines, and numerous statues of the Buddha and other religious figures. Wat Puthanimittam temple

This Thai Buddhist temple is a must-visit for explorers.
