Phuket’s Hidden Beaches – Rest and Relaxation Galore!

If sun, sea, sand and serenity are on your mind, pack your bags and head to Thailand’s Phuket Island. Discover what is unique about these secret beaches that are a paradise for beach enthusiasts.

1

Banana Beach

Comprising untouched natural beauty and lying snuggled along the Andaman coastline, Banana Beach was known as Krassa Beach some time back. Its modern name derives from the formation of its two beaches, which take the shape of a big banana and a little banana.
This sandy shore which stretches for around 70 meters is a well-known spot for activities like scuba diving, snorkelling, kayaking, parasailing, speed boat riding, sea walking and of course, banana boat riding.

2

Freedom Beach

Known as a place which offers excellent snorkelling and swimming opportunities, Freedom Beach houses turquoise waters and pristine sands. This hidden gem, flanked by wilderness, hills and granite rocks, is often considered the most beautiful beach in Phuket. It is also not easily accessible with only two options available on how to get there: a tailboat ride from Patong Beach or a descent from the hill.

It is ideal to visit this location from December to June when cool breezes and clear skies frequent the setting.  Snorkelling is popular here since there is abundant marine life to explore from vibrant tropical fish like parrotfish, blue tangs and clownfish to larger marine creatures like leopard sharks, turtles and eels.

Nui Beach

Put on your hiking boots and prepare for a long journey to get to Nui Beach. This enigmatic destination which resembles a tiny bay or a mysterious cove can be reached while travelling around 350 meters from the famous Karon Viewpoint.
Once you reach the destination, you will see some huts and wooden verandas on the beach where you can catch awesome sunsets in the afternoons while sampling Thai delicacies and beverages. Snorkelling is at the top of the list of activities at Nui Beach. You can also treat yourself to a massage at the spa or play shutterbug in its postcard-worthy environs.

4

Karon Noi Beach

Imagine three kilometres of white sand and crystal clear waters surrounded by towering trees and palms. That is Karon Noi Beach for you. This beautiful site is set on the west coast of Phuket. Many visit the beach in the afternoon to witness the breathtaking sunset and play a round of volleyball at the courts.
Attractions nearby include Wat Suwan Khirikhet temple, the Karon Beach Naga Statue and Dino Park Mini Golf, an 18-hole miniature golf course. You can also experience some mouthwatering dishes at the restaurants and eateries scattered nearby.

5

Laem Had Beach

A beach that is known for its tranquil ambience, Laem Had Beach is located in Ko Yao Ya Island. Set amid flourishing vegetation and seven kilometres of white sand, this is the perfect spot for those who would like to enjoy the best of what nature offers in privacy. Swimming, beachcombing and sunbathing are the top activities to engage in at Laem Had Beach.
If you are hoping to spend a lot of time lazing on the beaches and engaging in water-based activities during your stay in Phuket, luxury beach resort packages are up for grabs at many accommodations. Check them out on the internet and decide on one which suits your budget and includes enticing amenities. Properties like Anantara Koh Yao Yai Resort & Villas are located around one mile from Laem Had Beach so you can have easy access to its shores if you are planning a beach retreat.
