Koh Samui is Thailand's second largest island. Located off the east coast, of Kra Isthmus, Koh Samui is famous for its aesthetically pleasing views and calm environment. A tropical paradise with culinary extravaganzas, coral reefs and palm-fringed beaches is the ideal destination to celebrate love with your partner.
With an enchanting veil of liquid crystal in the background, there is no limit to the number of stunning visuals you can shoot with your loved one. While Koh Samui is renowned for its waterfalls, the Na Muang waterfall stands out as a spectacle worth the hike. A mini-adventure of hiking through a jungle, followed by a quick dip in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall is sure to leave the two of you replenished. This waterfall is two-stepped; the first waterfall may be crowded, so hike on to the second one to enjoy the quiet haven beside the rushing waters.
If the two of you are water babies, do not leave Koh Samui without an underwater adventure because this island's waters are teeming with exotic marine life. Go scuba diving together at popular diving spots around the island like Coral Cove, Taling Ngam Beach and Coheng Mon. The corals and fish resemble a painter's colour palette brought to life, making everything seem "too good to be true". These surreal sights are bound to evoke the divine moment when you realized that you've fallen for your true, "too good to be true" person!
Early risers who love watching a splendid sunrise as much as a sunset, can indulge on breakfast by the beach. Most Koh Samui Romantic Hotels include a beachside breakfast menu in their packages for couples. The fresh morning breeze and the crystal-clear waters humming at you as the sun rises over the horizon adding lovable warm tones to your partner's smile, is something you can only experience in the Gulf of Thailand. At a hotel such as Santiburi Koh Samui, the views are exceptionally beautiful in the morning and when paralleled with the culinary experience of delightful seafood and tropical fruits, the experience is heavenly.
Koh Tao, also called "Turtle Island", is a top diving destination in the world and is less than two hours away from Koh Samui. You can book a ferry ride from Koh Samui to Koh Tao for a snorkelling expedition because this island has an abundance of diving spots with vibrantly coloured coral gardens. Just 15 minutes away is Koh Nang Yuan Island which is made up of three little islets. You can rent a two-person kayak from Koh Tao and kayak to the little paradise where the islets are connected to each other by strips of white coral sand. These mini-beaches are submerged in crystal clear waters during the high tide.
The best time to visit Ang Thong Marine National Park is from March to October. This park is full of limestone cliffs, secluded beaches and lagoons for you to marvel at with your loved one when onboard a traditional Thai boat known as longtail boats. These wooden vessels are covered with colourful intricate patterns and add to the romantic ambience of the boat ride. A cluster of 42 islands with spectacular sights make up the park. While it's impossible to explore all the islands on a short stay, an iconic island you can go to is Koh Mae which has a serene beach and an inland lagoon called Emerald Lake.
A romantic spot that you simply must add to your itinerary is Lad Koh viewpoint which overlooks the hilly terrain of the island. Many Thai couples go to this viewpoint to capture their wedding photos. The viewpoint offers a spectacular panoramic view of the pristine seas and the shoreline plus the surrounding hills. Besides the peaceful moments with your loved one, enjoy cold drinks and snacks at the local stalls in the warm weather. For food fanatics, Thai flavours of ice cream and pizza await! This viewpoint is just 15 minutes away from the Chaweng and Lamai beaches.
