While it may not be among the most popular attractions in Mauritius, the waterfall is undoubtedly breathtaking and is certainly worth a visit for all travellers in the south. Sharing montane forests with the aforementioned Alexandra Falls, Mare Aux Joncs is another waterfall that calls the island nation’s most fabled Black River Gorges National Park home. Set out on your adventure from the entrance to the scenic Riviere Noire and take your pick from the labyrinth of trails, depending on how much adventure your inner explorer craves.
Among the whole host of waterfalls that call Mauritius home, Cascade De 500 Pieds is one of the least visited waterfalls on the island, yet absolutely brimming with nature’s splendour. For those vacationing in Chamouny and the vicinity, a visit to the serene falls will certainly be worth it, for it won’t be under the radar for long.
