Piston pumps are devices that can be seen in many industries. Using pistons to create pressure by forcing fluid into an area with less volume, they can move liquids or gases that have high pressure.
Although there are many types available, piston pumps are usually made of three main components: a piston, cylinder, and rod. These machines have an all-weather drive motor above the wellhead, which is connected to other downhole components. When turned on, the motor pushes and pulls a drive rod connected to a reciprocating piston near the bottom of the well.
