How to get to the Petronas Twin Towers

Kuala Lumpur’s public transport system is convenient and sophisticated. If you’re staying at any co living space in KL, with access to public spaces, catch a GO KL free bus to the towers. The free buses are light purple. Places like the lyf Raja Chulan Kuala Lumpur provide easy access to GO KL buses. Alternatively, you can take the LRT Kelana Jaya Line to the KLCC stop or the green line GO KL city bus to the same spot.

How to get tickets to the Petronas Twin Towers

If you’re planning to buy tickets at the entrance ticket office, get there early. If you get there late (even half an hour), the tickets can easily be sold out for that day. The ticket office begins issuing passes around 8:30 am. You need to be standing in line by the time they open to get your tickets. You can also book tickets online. If you wish to visit at a specific time, the tickets cost more. Prices range from 50 to 98 RM. More specifically, for people between the ages of 12 to 60, the ticket price is 98 RM. Younger kids and senior citizens only have to pay 50 RM.

What are the opening hours of Petronas Twin Towers?

The public can visit the towers between 9 am to 9 pm from Tuesday to Sunday. They don’t allow people to go up after 8:30 pm, though you can be there until 9 pm. They always close down on Mondays.

What to expect from a tour of the Petronas Twin Towers

A tour lasts about 40 minutes or so. First, you have to leave your bags behind and get a number to collect them back. You can take a camera up but no additional gear. They’ll give you a visitor card in a specific colour. You can wear it around your neck. The different colours allow officials to tell different groups apart.

What to expect when you go up the Petronas Twin Towers

This Skybridge will be your first stop on the 41st floor. The Skybridge connects the two towers; the bridge is not completely attached to the towers to prevent breaking when the towers sway. This first stop can feel a little surreal and terrifying.

The second stop would be the Observation deck at the 86th floor. You get a wonderous 360-degree view of the cityscape. The Observation deck is somewhat less intimidating than the Skybridge. The two spots provided immensely different perspectives.

Night visits to the towers provide a more immersive experience. The views below take on a magical glow, and two towers themselves light up like precious jewels.
