Malaysia for Families: Kid-Friendly Activities and Attractions – Family fun

Are you planning to take your kids to Malaysia this holiday season? The Asian country is not just about beaches and shopping. Much adventure, greenery, theme parks and more await those who visit. This article lists some of the most exciting things to do in Malaysia with kids.

1

Explore Georgetown

The cool climes of George Town and its rich culture, food and adventures on offer are perfect for a holiday with the entire family. Book a hotel in Penang Georgetown for a few days, and spend time relaxing and going on excursions. The town is famous for its street art, colourful jetties and beautiful temples right by the ocean. Check with hotels like the Citadines Connect Georgetown Penang for early booking deals in Georgetown.

2

Visit the Sunway Lagoon

This 80-acre theme park comes with 5 extensive zones. The water park is scattered with surf beaches and a wave pool. The Scream Park is full of horror-themed rides. The older kids would love the Extreme Park. For the younger ones, there is the Amusement Park with its pirates and carousels. The Sunway Lagoon calls for a day outing for the family. If you’re taking your baby along, they even allow food and drinks for infants.  The rest of you can grab lunch from one of their many stalls and counters. And, there are lifeguards everywhere.

3

Spend some time at the i-City Theme Park

This carnival-like theme park set in the city is packed with childhood fun memories to be made. The candy stands, carousels and the adventurous Ferris wheel will delight your brood. There is an ice world complete with a snowwalk and water city offers the Aladdin pool, tornado ride and a delightful rainbow slide. The kids can even pose with their favourite superstars at the Red Carpet 2.  Some of the activities include watching nocturnal shark behaviour and feeding shows. The most famous sight in i-City though is the shimmering lights of the artificial forest covered in lit-up trees. Lots of kids' favourite food chains have set up stalls at the park, making it another great spot for a day’s fun.

4

Visit the Aquaria KLCC

Enter a world of effervescent marine and freshwater species at the Aquaria KLCC. The submerged oceanarium contains 8 sections. The kids will fall in love with the tiger sharks, bright corals, sea horses, aquatic snakes and even seaweeds. The ‘Sleep with Shark’ activity offers a different kind of fun to kids between 6 to 13 years old. The day package at the aquarium includes meals, education kits and even t-shirts.

5

Enjoy the Farm in the City

Farm in the city is a chance for kids to get close to farm animals safely. The animals live in separate enclosures designed to resemble their natural habitats. The children can pet the animals as long as they are with a farm supervisor. They’ll get up close and personal with horses (the smallest in the world), rare white cows, big rabbits, giant tortoises, iguanas, crocodiles, ferrets and marmosets.
