Wireless printers and MFPs (multifunction printers) have become commonplace in both homes and small offices, and many larger businesses are adopting them as well. Wi-Fi connectivity gives you more flexibility in where you put your printer, and gives you one fewer unsightly cable to worry about.
A few black-and-white choices have dominated the process of buying a printer for many years. Get an inkjet, or a laser? An all-in-one, or a single-function model? Business-grade workhorse, or a home/SOHO model? But most printers over the last couple of years have unified, in one respect at least, under a common banner: wireless connectivity.
Sometimes you need more than a printer, and adding a scanner, a copier, and a fax machine can turn your home-printing center into a bona fide home office. But you know what they say about all work and no play; remember a multifunction inkjet printer will also give you great photos for your albums and scrapbooks.
