5 Must-Visit Art Galleries in Nimman for Art Enthusiasts – Enjoy fascination and inspiration in a tour of artistry!

Endowed with scenic environs, unique temples and the famous Lanna Culture, Chiang Mai beckons locals and visitors to the north of Thailand. Nimman is a popular area in Chiang Mai with restaurants, coffee shops, antique stalls, and fine art galleries which are well worth exploring during your visit.

1

Zane Gallery

Though small in extent this is an airy and attractive art gallery located on a side road of Nimman Area.  This makes it convenient for visitors staying at many good hotels in Chiang Mai to visit it. The unique aspect of this gallery is that most of the creations are full of colour and portray playful nuances to the viewer while a few portray more traditional pieces depicting Asian Art. The gallery also hosts a souvenir shop for visitors to pick up different pieces of art to take back home.

2

MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum

This large Art Museum is in a former warehouse and is often visited by guests from hotels in the vicinity like Travelodge Nimman. It is one of the newest such galleries in Chiang Mai. Many works of art by Thai Artists and some pieces from a private collection of a notable Thai family are displayed on the upper floor which houses the permanent gallery. The Ground floor serves as the exhibition arena with the exhibits being rotated. In addition to the paintings the gallery also features sculptures on view here. A café on site and a shop are available for the convenience of visitors.

3

Suvannabhumi Art Gallery

Dedicated entirely to contemporary creations by Burmese artists this homely art space is in a wooden building and holds great appeal for lovers of art. The creations here are in two different mediums such as oil paintings on canvas and sculptures. This gallery strives to showcase the rich culture of Burma through these pieces of art.

4

La Luna Gallery

Situated in a lovely colonial house in the artistic streets of Chiang Mai, La Luna is open daily. It encompasses creative work in the form of Lanna Art, textiles and handicrafts and encourages many Southeast Asian modern artists to showcase their talent in this gallery. Currently exhibits by more than 15 artists are on display with viewers admiring the different pieces of work for the techniques and inspiration reflected through the pieces of work.

5

Gallery Seescape

This novel art venue founded in 2008 strives to support professional artists as well as emerging ones. It nurtures fledgling artists, hosting several art exhibitions and events to showcase their talent and offers a base for operations and activities to engage the community and use public spaces for creative art etc. by reaching a wider audience beyond the scope of an art gallery with their conviction that art is a language communicating the feelings of the artists through their work. Hence the overall ambience of this gallery is an informal one. This must be the very reason that more visitors cross the threshold of this gallery as compared to others.
