Reasons Why Phuket Should Be Your Next Destination - Irresistible reasons await!

If your holiday seems incomplete without some adventure then Phuket is the right place for you. A great place to bring out your adventurous side, here are a few things you will fall in love with when in Phuket, and why you must go there!

1

Elephant trekking and whitewater rafting

A short drive from Phuket will take you to Phang Nga province where elephant trekking and whitewater rafting are popular. This is usually a two-day tour, and you can also travel to these spots from centrally located Phuket luxury hotels the likes of Anantara Layan Phuket Resort. The elephant trek is an exciting affair. Seated on the back of an elephant you will see the wildlife from a completely different perspective. While the majestic elephant treks on different terrains, the rider can experience wildlife in its full glory. These elephants are usually tamed and an experienced mahout will ride along with the animal or on the platform with you. After a slow-paced ride on an elephant, going on a white-water rafting tour will be exciting. The rafting camps provide a rubber raft that 4 to 5 people can fit into. Life jackets are given to each of the participants for safety reasons. The guide usually provides initial instructions and training, all you need is to get ready for an adventurous ride.

Sea Canoeing

Phang Nga Bay and Krabi are the closest and the most popular locations for canoeing for those travelling from Phuket. Sea canoeing is truly an amazing adventure that you should not miss. While canoeing here, you can look at limestone caves and mangrove swamps to unveil the hidden mysteries of the ‘Hongs’. Hongs are limestone caves, which are on the interior of the island. To reach these you have to travel on a canoe. These open sky hongs have a unique ecosystem and you will find a myriad of fascinating fauna and flora.

3

Surfing

April to November is the surfing season in Phuket. The beaches are packed with amateurs and experienced surfers catching the waves of the glistening ocean. Referred to as the surfing Mecca of Phuket, Kata Beach has a lot to offer surfing enthusiasts. It does get pretty crowded here; however, the atmosphere is friendly and safe ensuring that everyone has a chance to enjoy their trip. Visitors staying in hotels close to Kata Beach usually have positive comments about the place.

4

Jungle Trek

There is no better way to explore the green side of Phuket than on foot, unless, you have an elephant of course. The Khao Phra Thaeo National Park is sadly the last remaining rainforest on the island. There are several trekking paths in the national park, and it is always best to go with an experienced guide, especially if you want to spot wild animals. The hike is breathtaking, passing waterways and lush forests with stunning views of a magnificent waterfall. Tours are limited to small groups with meals provided on site.
