How to Plan a Perfect 3 Day Beach Vacation in Quy Nhon – Discover a Hidden Paradise

If you ever visit Vietnam, Quy Nhon should be on your must-visit places list. It’s not really on the tourist map, but it’s a decent-sized town with amazing beaches and stunning scenery. Plus, this is one of the places where you can experience authentic Vietnamese vibes. Planning a visit to this gorgeous town? Here’s how to spend three days in Quy Nhon.

1

Practical Information

Here are some things you need to know before you plan your three-day itinerary.

From March to August, it tends to be dry with not much rain. But the prime time is January to March. By then, the worst of the rain has passed, and it's not as scorching as the summer months.

There are plenty of banks and ATMs around the city. If you're heading to Xep Beach, it's a good idea to bring enough cash. While hotels take credit cards, many local eateries don't.

Quy Nhon offers a range of accommodation options to suit every budget. There are budget guesthouses, but the likes of Avani Quy Nhon Resort are often popular with those looking for a Quy Nhon fitness centre.

2

Stay Over in Bai Xep

Quy Nhon might be off the beaten track, but Bai Xep takes it up a notch for a genuine experience. Located in a quaint fishing village about 12 km from Quy Nhon's city centre, Bai Xep began with a couple of hostels right on the beach. These days, there's a bit more choice for staying over, and there’s even a posh resort nearby.

3

Visit the Beaches

Apart from Bai Xep, there are a ton of beaches around. One of the top activities in Quy Nhon? Beach hopping. Just cruise down the coast and pick a spot to chill out.

You don't even need to leave the city for a good beach day. The Municipal Beach, for instance, is a gem. The waters are usually calm, perfect for a swim. Plus, there are several beach bars where you can grab a cocktail and catch a killer sunset.

4

Island Hopping

Just off Quy Nhon's coast, there's an array of little islands. Some are so tiny that you can only really sail and snorkel around them. Loads of resorts offer boat trips to these islands, and they often throw in some snorkelling too.

Two of the standout islands to check out are Ky Co Island and Kho Island. Ky Co is a bit out of the way but has a stunning beach and the kind of clear water you just have to dive into. Kho Island is a top spot for checking out coral reefs. Plus, Hon Kho doubles up as a turtle conservation centre.

5

Catch Sunset at Eo Gio

Looking for another must-do in Quy Nhon? Watching the sun dip into the ocean is a must. The top spot for this is Eo Gio; visiting during the day is just as good.

Eo Gio, nicknamed the Windy Pass, boasts natural rock formations that jut out into the sea. This dramatic landscape of rugged cliffs that dive straight into the waters makes it a great place to walk around, taking in the tranquil surroundings.

6

Dune Adventure

Mui Ne isn't the sole spot in Vietnam with massive sand dunes that give off desert vibes. Over at Nhon Ly beach, you have the Phuong Mai dunes, and they are absolutely impressive. Aside from being a photographer's dream, they are also a top spot for sandboarding.

While you're here, it's worth swinging by Hai Nam fishing village. It's a local gem with a lovely beach, and there's even an island just off the coast.

7

Cham Towers

Around Quy Nhon, you'll spot Cham Towers. These towers are perched atop a hill, and you cannot miss them. Seeing these ancient structures loom from afar is quite something. There's even a Cham tower right on the beach in Quy Nhon itself. Thap Banh It and Thap Doi are two towers you must visit.
