Local restaurants in Abu Dhabi - 5 of the must-visits

Just like everything else in Abu Dhabi, dining too is an exquisite experience that visitors ought to have in the city. Wondering where to experience some of the most amazing food during your holiday? Here are a few of the best local restaurants to try out.

1

Meylas Emirati Restaurant

Starting off small-scale as a local food truck, the owner,  Shaikha Al Kaabi, a young Emirati wanted to spread the deliciousness of Emirati cuisine to visitors while preserving its originality. Now, what was once a food truck has transformed into a retro-themed restaurant located in Al Muneera. The most sought-after menu at the restaurant is the breakfast menu believed to be the best that Abu Dhabi has to offer. From soups to salads and stews, the restaurant certainly offers an amazing experience for the palate. The word "Meylas" means a place that gathers people and this is true because Emirati cuisine as served here is best enjoyed with a group of people.

Al Mrzab Restaurant

Serving authentic dishes is what Al Mrzab is well-known for, but that is not all, your entire dining experience will feel homely because of the interior that looks like a traditional Emirati household kitchen. Enjoy your meals while seated at a low table on fancy floor cushions. Look forward to dishes like machboos (rice with lamb), mixed mutaban (spicy meat stuffed into potato wedges), harees (boiled wheat) and more. While most of the menu is traditional Emirati food, there are a few Kuwaiti options as well including mutabbaq (a stuffed pancake) and murabyan (rice with shrimp).
