What to Pack for Thailand: Essentials for a Beach or Island Trip - Worry-free, blissful times in the tropical seaside

A trip to the Southeast Asian nation of Thailand, where beaches are breathtakingly gorgeous and forest-clad mountains are exhilaratingly adventurous, fun and excitement certainly isn’t something equivocal. Nevertheless, packing the right essentials can make or break your much-awaited getaway.

1

Handy backpack or bulky suitcase - Choose your “travel companion”, wisely

Before you go about packing for your trip to Thailand, it is crucial that you choose wisely “in what you do your packing”. Gladly, there isn’t an array of options to choose from that would put you in a state of ceaseless pondering; it’s the two most common bag choices from which you should take your pick — backpack or suitcase. As any seasoned traveller, as well as past travellers to the Southeast Asian nation, would certainly agree, a backpack is the obvious choice, which is especially true if it is a beachside trip. From lugging a bulky suitcase everywhere you go to a handy backpack that affords the convenience of two free hands, the latter is the clear winner.

2

Clothing - Loose and lightweight summer clothes

If there’s one thing that you should keep in mind when packing for your trip to Thailand (especially for the ladies), it would be not to pack your entire wardrobe. Thailand is pretty easy going about clothes, at least in the touristic areas with the likes of southern Thailand, and a wardrobe-like heavy set of clothes is the last thing you’d want to carry on your shoulders on your getaway. Throw in 4-5 pieces of t-shirts and shorts, 2 shirts and pants and a skirt or two for the ladies, and you should be fine.

3

Footwear - A pair for an event

Flip flops rule in Thailand and, therefore, are an absolute must-have on your packing list. However, it is not exactly a good idea to rely entirely on flip-flops. While the picture-postcard beaches of the Southeast Asian nation may tempt you to unwind on pristine sands all day long for the entirety of your holiday, the country is also home to a fair share of forest-clad mountains that make excellent trekking, so a pair of hiking shoes are also recommended. Got anything fancy planned on your getaway? Be sure to take a pair of shoes that suit the “level of fancy” in your mind.

Tropical destination essentials - Must-haves for your seaside getaway

Every tropical holiday destination calls for a bunch of “tropical destination essentials” which can make or break your getaway and the Southeastern Asian nation of Thailand is no exception. A pair or a couple of swimwear, sunglasses, a sunhat, enough sunscreen and something you certainly can’t afford to forget, bugs spray or mosquito repellent.

Universal travel adapter - Modern-day travel essential

Imagine checking into your hotel room only to find out that none of the wall plugs in the room match the plugs of your devices. Even if you are staying at something as elegant as a spa resort in Khao Lak, including the likes of Avani+ Khao Lak Resort, it never hurts to carry a universal travel adapter with you. Always remember, “better safe than sorry”.
