A country and a city that is an urban metropolis Singapore has preserved its cultural and architectural heritage whilst creating vast spaces of Nature Escapes. Gardens, reservoirs, parks, and sky-rise greenery have sprung up to make Singapore the Garden City with many avenues to be close to nature.

Singapore Botanic Gardens

Situated at Cluny Road, this can be called the crowning glory of all Gardens and Parks in Singapore with 82 hectares of land well used to create an oasis of green spaces, for people to enjoy, and relax whilst for families with children to have fun getaways. The many featured attractions of blooms and plants would be a delight to nature lovers while the National Orchid Garden is a great attraction for visitors from hotels near Geylang as it has an assortment of hybrid variations of this versatile bloom. The unique Children’s Garden is a firm favourite of families boasting a farm, an orchard and a forest specially for juniors to enjoy and have an appreciation of the importance of nature.

 Hindhede Nature Park

Situated next to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, this nature park covers 9.5 hectares of land. This quiet and serene park is a haven for those who love to hike and take on trails as it offers an array of trails and hikes with gentle inclines and wide paths making these activities possible for most members of the family. The trails and hikes here are thoroughly enjoyed throughout the year by not only locals but also guests from hotels around such as Hotel 81 Gold who also enjoy spotting exotic birds of Singapore and the scenic views from the lookout point to the Hindhede Quarry.

MacRitchie Reservoir

This nature reserve is well known for many reasons the most important of them all being the first reservoir in Singapore. MacRitchie is a 12-hectare extent of land densely covered in greenery and offering the nation some challenging cross-country trails. Its Treetop Walk is famous as a daring yet beautiful hiking trail on a suspended path linking two high points in MacRitchie Bukit Pierce and Bukit Kalan. This reserve is often used by fitness fanatics, and nature lovers whilst it is also looked up by visitors for Instagram-worthy images they can capture being here.

Sungei Buloh

Situated at the northwest edge of Singapore across from Johor Bahru, Sungei Buloh was opened in the late 20th century as a Nature Park and has now become Singapore’s first ASEAN Heritage Park. Blessed with a rich biodiversity Sungei Buloh offers dense mangroves and hundreds of migratory birds to entertain its visitors, both locals and tourists. Many events and activities are organized by the park towards educating visitors and contributing towards enhancing the interest and awareness of the Heritage Park in the community.

Mount Faber

Formerly known as Telok Blangah Hill this summit is about 94 m high and situated on the southern side of Singapore. The vegetation on the slope due to being covered by a secondary rainforest makes the park quite beautiful and makes it a popular destination for locals and visitors. The cable car ride from Mount Faber to Sentosa to experience the views is quite popular whilst the telescopes at the lookout points also provide an amazing view. The highest point in the park, Faber Point carries a mural depicting local historical events.
