Best spots to watch a Maldives sunset

Experiencing a sunset in the Maldives would be a marvellous experience for the visitor; choose from locations like a sunset cruise, sunset villa, sandbar picnic, the beach and so on to enjoy this magical sight every day of your holiday.

1

Sunset cruise

Taking a sunset cruise would be an unforgettable experience in the Maldives, with innumerable holidaymakers embarking on one of these excursions. As you might expect, the spectacle of the tropical sunset amidst the expanses of the ocean would be a glorious sight. Naturally, a sunset cruise would also be a romantic experience for couples providing them with quality time in each other’s company. Meanwhile, families would also enjoy one of these cruises which sometimes will include the chance to spot dolphins as well.

2

Sunset villa

Naturally, enjoying the magnificent local sunset in the comfort of your own villa would be an appealing experience for the visitor. You will find that many Maldives resorts would offer sunrise and/or sunset villas that would be ideal for experiencing these stunning sights each day. It would always be delightful to relax in a comfortable chair after a day of Maldives sightseeing, have a cocktail in your hand, and take in a tropical sunset. An accommodation choice to consider that offers sunset villas would be Adaaran Select Meedhupparu.

3

Sandbar or sandbank picnic

Another not-to-be-missed sunset experience would be enjoying a relaxed sandbar or sandbank picnic whilst taking in this amazing spectacle. It would be a magical experience to spend quality time with your partner or loved ones in the stunning surroundings of the Maldives at the time of dusk. You may have the opportunity to book a private excursion to a sandbar or sandbank which would include a special picnic basket for you to enjoy. You may even be able to enjoy a sandbank dinner prepared by your own chef.

4

The beach

Naturally, the beach would be an obvious location for admiring the Maldives sunset. If your villa or guesthouse doesn’t offer views of the sunset, could take in the spectacle from another beachside spot on the island or when visiting a nearby island. Many of the resorts would offer hammocks too for those who would rather not sit directly on the sands. The shore would also be a great environment for photographers who desire to take pictures at this time.

5

Beach bar or restaurant

It would always be agreeable to enjoy a drink or a tasty treat as you take in the sight of the Maldivian sunset and the islands would offer an abundance of bars, restaurants and cafes where you could enjoy this experience. Many resorts would also offer sunset dinners where you could enjoy your favourite dishes whilst admiring the sight of the setting sun. Savouring a sundowner at a beachside bar would be another opportunity you should not miss.

6

Booze boat

You may be surprised to learn that there are ‘booze boats’ in the Maldives where generally alcohol wouldn’t be available outside of the resorts. However, there would be some boats located near the coast of the island of Maafushi which offer beer as well as other alcoholic tipples to tourists holidaying on the islands. These boats would not travel to any destinations and you would have the opportunity to board one of them at the time of dusk to experience the amazing sunset.
