Today, Doha has gained a fantastic reputation for being one of the top travel destinations in the world, routinely attracting globetrotters keen on taking in everything this country has to offer – be it fascinating museums, luxurious malls, fun parks, and much more. Read on to discover five must places to visit in Doha for an unforgettable holiday!

1

Mina District

One of the country’s top touristic destinations, the Doha Port Mina District is home to a marina for cruise ships, hotels, shops, cafes, and restaurants! A project which opened to the public well ahead of the World Cup, it’s a great spot to meet friends, visit restaurants and cafes such as Santa Nata, Exit 55, or Ergon, or pick up souvenirs. If you love seafood, then be sure to check out a seafood market with a restaurant attached called Chabrat Al Mina. After all your seafood doesn’t get fresher than this! Plus, Mina District is a great spot to head to if you want to get some snazzy Instagram shots as all the district’s buildings are painted in bright colours and surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens.

2

Museum of Modern Art

Housing an expansive collection spanning more than 9,000 artworks as a part of its permanent collection, the Museum of Modern Art is a definite must-see attraction. And despite being open to the public 11 years, ago, it still remains one of the most visited museums in the country.  The museum’s permanent collection is housed on the first floor and covers artwork from the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe. The best part is that the artwork and installations are always on rotation, so you are sure to enjoy a different experience every time you decide to visit.

3

Box Park

Filled with colourful and beautifully repurposed shipping containers, Box Park Qatar opened at Old Doha Port quite recently. To drink in the expansive views of this thoroughly modern metropolitan city, head upstairs to Box Park Qatar and take in the National Museum of Qatar and the World Cup venue; Stadium 974. This space also has plenty of food trucks where you can order delicious food if you’re feeling peckish. Top picks include Basta AlTayer for sandwiches and fries or Simit Sarayi for freshly baked Turkish goods. This particular spot can be easily reached from five-star hotels in Doha such as the likes of Banana Island Resort Doha with ease.

4

The Corniche

The Corniche is among one of Doha’s most popular attractions and includes everything from chic cafes, restaurants, and children’s play areas to separate cycle and pedestrian pathways. Top activities to enjoy here include possibly taking a sunrise stroll, enjoying a spot of fine dining with sea views or hopping on a dhow cruise come dusk to take in Doha’s magnificent skyline bathed in golden light.

5

Al Khor Mall

Whether you are looking for a fun family day or a relaxed retail experience, Al Khor Mall has it all! Here you can take your pick from 100 outlets including clothing retailers and a wide range of dining options in addition to a fantastic entertainment centre and a cinema complex.
