Top 5 Things to Do in Dubai Creek- Chill in the heart of Dubai

Sometimes called Khor Dubai, this natural creek stretches for 14 km and stems from the Arabian Gulf. It's one of the main highlights in Dubai and offers a place to unwind and enjoy the city. Here are some ways to spend time in and around Dubai Creek.

1

Ride an abra

Riding an abra is one of the top things to do in Dubai Creek. It is the best way to explore the creek and one of its signature attractions. Make it a point to travel across the other side of the creek and scour through their souqs and corner shops to immerse in the historic quarter of Dubai. You can get an abra from Bur Dubai, Deira or the Creek for just one dirham. However, the best location to get on board is near the Al Fahidi District.

2

Visit the Dubai Frame and the Glass Bridge

This unique stand-out frame captures Dubai in a massive-sized frame. You can find it at Zabeel Park, a short drive from Dubai Creek and open daily from 9 am to 9 pm. Visitors can get sights of 'old' and 'modern' Dubai by climbing the 150-metre-tall glass bridge. The bottom of the bridge is transparent and may feel like walking on thin air! Check out My Entertainment Hub for more ways to explore this area.

3

Play golf at the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club

Located close to Dubai Creek, Golf & Yacht Club is a favourite haunt for the avid golfers of Dubai. Enjoy a relaxing game cooling off to the soothing sea breezes of Dubai Creek. The Golfing Academy at this renowned golf course offers picturesque 18-hole tournament courses and provides comprehensive Par 3 golf lessons. There is even a podium on Dubai Creek to tee off on one of its finishing holes. After concluding your round, unwind at the Promenade with some refreshments. Costs will vary, but prices will include golf cart hire, green fees and range balls. It is open every day from 7:30 am to 8 pm.

4

Laze about in Dubai Creek Park

Spend a lazy afternoon in this fresh patch of green in the middle of the city. It is the ideal place to relax and allow the kids to play. As the second biggest park in Dubai, it is a favourite spot for Dubai dwellers and it beautifully captures lush scenes overlooking the creek. You can also get bikes for rent for a fun bike ride via the many cycle lanes. It is open from Sunday to Wednesday 8 am to 10 pm, and Thursday to Saturday 8 am to 11 pm.

5

Visit the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding

You can find a range of Q&A programmes and sessions here. The centre invites guests from across the Emirates to engage and debate regional topics for their breakfast, lunch and dinner events. While there, you can experience Fuala, which is the Emirati tradition of greeting visitors. Another option is to go on a heritage tour to understand the history of Dubai.
