There would be several plants that would be ideal for gardens in the United Arab Emirates, such as plumeria, the flame tree, date palm, tropical hibiscus, bougainvillaea and the yellow trumpet flower as described below.

1

Plumeria (Frangipani)

The well-known frangipani, also known as plumeria, would be an excellent choice for gardens in the United Arab Emirates. You will find that this plant features delicate yellow and white flowers and leaves of a dark green colour making it a lovely inclusion for an attractive green landscape. This plant would also have a heady sweet fragrance whilst also being very easy to grow. Plumeria would thrive while receiving direct sunlight, can endure drought and develop even in soil of poor quality. It could serve as a little tree or as a shrub.

2

Delonix regia (Flame tree)

The flame tree or Delonix regia would be an attractive option for those seeking to include a touch of colour in their gardens. This remarkable tree would be native to the island nation of Madagascar and produce colourful red, yellow or orange flowers. It would generally develop well in tropical or similar climates and you will find that this tree could reach 12 m in height, developing a thick extensive foliage; due to this reason, it could provide useful shade in the gardens of the UAE.

3

Date palm

The date palm may be considered to be central to the traditional lifestyle of the Bedouins. In fact, the date palms of the UAE happen to produce 6 percent of the total date production of the world. Whilst this palm would be an interesting addition to a UAE garden, it must be kept in mind that this tree could reach a height of 23 m whilst featuring leaves that would span 4 to 6 m.

4

Tropical hibiscus

The tropical hibiscus, sometimes called China rose, may be counted among the few varieties of plants which would thrive within the sand, although regular and balanced fertilization would be needed. Due to this reason, this plant could be a fine choice for a garden in the UAE. You will find that tropical hibiscus could be planted in a container or cultivated as a shrub. If grown within a container, this plant should be replanted and the roots pruned once in three years as a minimum.

Yellow trumpet flower

Another interesting choice for the UAE garden enthusiast would be the yellow trumpet flower which happens to be a perennial flowering shrub originally found in the Americas. This plant could develop as a tree with multiple stems or as a sizable shrub, reaching a height of as much as 5 m. An accommodation choice to consider in the city from which to visit various parks and gardens to see such flora would be Avani Ibn Battuta Dubai Hotel; those based at such a property could also enjoy the things to do in Ibn Battuta Mall including shopping for flowers.

6

Bougainvillaea

You will find that the much-liked bougainvillaea would be counted amongst the most common plants reared in the UAE. The reasons for this popularity would be the fact that it would be colourful and attractive, whilst also having very few pest-related problems. Interestingly, bougainvillaea which originated in South America could take the form of bushes, vines and trees and would be ideally suited to the conditions of the Middle East.
