Three Days of Fun and Leisure in Phuket — The Ideal Itinerary

Gorgeous limestone cliffs, lush rainforests and sun-kissed white sand beaches make Phuket sound like a surreal destination. Yet the place is real enough and just waiting to be explored. Here is a list of how to enjoy three days of fun and leisure in Phuket on the ideal itinerary.

1

Day One in Phuket: Morning

Visit the Big Buddha in the morning and discover the essence of culture that makes Phuket more than a beach destination. The huge Buddha statue is located on Nakkerd Hill and is a prized attraction on the island. The statue is 45 metres tall and is covered in white marble, which makes it a visible landmark from several locations in Phuket. A visit to the statue can be coupled with sightseeing as the hill is a lovely lookout point for enjoying sweeping views across Chalong Bay. A quick tip here is to make sure you choose a well-located resort in Phuket. This makes sightseeing easy and some like Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas are popular for both comfort and easy access to the sights. Such places are often chosen by tourists seeking the best Phuket luxury resort.

2

Day One: Afternoon

It's beach time as the day wears on. Head off to Kata Noi Beach to cool off and be a part of the holiday vibes. Located on the western edge of the island, this beach is home to a serene bay and is ideal for chilling and getting over any jet lag you may have. The sandy beach is framed by crystal clear waters that are warm and inviting; ideal for swimming and cooling off. As the sun begins to set on day one, make your way to Karon View Point. This is the best on the island and promises you a magical experience of a fiery sky that glows orange with the rays of the setting sun. Make sure to take along the camera for capturing the amazing phenomenon as well as the beauty of the surrounding area.

3

Day One: Evening

As night falls, head over to the Karon Market where you can explore the range of stalls and indulge in a spot of holiday shopping. The market takes place on Tuesdays and Fridays and operates from 4 pm to 9 pm. Karon Temple too is worth a visit as the unique features of the place include a dormitory built for monkeys.

4

Day Two: Morning to Afternoon

Spend your first half of day two island hopping, exploring the pretty islets located off-shore. The adventure is also the perfect excuse for snorkelling in hidden bays, and discovering exotic marine life and pretty coral formations. Ask your Phuket resort about booking island hopping and snorkelling tours and they will happily arrange a comprehensive excursion for you to enjoy.

5

Day Two: Evening

End your second day in Phuket exploring Chillva Market. This is a night market that has a chic touch to it. The bazaar is made up of unique boutiques, food stalls and a range of other customised experiences.

6

Day Three: Morning and Afternoon

Wind down and enjoy the experience of a Thai cooking class on your last morning in Phuket. Visit the Old Town, shop for ingredients and discover a few secret tips for creating the unique flavours of Thai cuisine back home.

7

Day Three: Evening

The Chalong Bay Rum Distillery is a great place to explore. The tour of the distillery includes plenty of tasting sessions that include sampling mojitos every hour. You can learn about the process of making rum, and later, discover more tips for creating tasty cocktail mixes.

Enjoy your time in Phuket.
