Each plastic valve material has its own set of properties; varying in characteristics, such as temperature range & chemical resistance. You would always try to match the valve material to that of your pipework, so that your pipe system is of the same characteristics throughout. Seals are made from a compressible material and used inside ball valves to seal bewteen rigid separable components.
