The Three Chiefs Monument

Popularly known among locals as the Three Dikgosi Monument, this iconic monument, which is located in the heart of Gaborone, is a must-visit highlight for all. Depicting three of the country's most venerated tribal chiefs; the statues were completed in North Korea and transported to the Botswana capital in time for the country's 2005 Independence Day celebrations. The statue depicts the likeness of Chief Khama III, Chief Sebele and Chief Bathoen.

Tourists based at Avani Hotel or any one of the other city hotels in Botswana must also pay homage to this monument dedicated to the memory of the country's first president.
