At only 5 square kilometres in extent, Gaborone Game Reserve is undoubtedly minuscule but is indeed rich with wildlife for its size, which is quite evident by the fact that it is the third busiest game reserve in Botswana — a Southern African nation that may have shortages of anything but game/nature reserves. The reserve dates back to 1988 and has been home to a remarkable variety of wild and birdlife since, where wildebeest, elands, gemsboks, kudus, ostriches, warthogs, kingfishers and hornbills could be spotted in abundance. The ability to traverse in 2WD means that you are in for an experience that’s less challenging than a typical safari and also more peace of mind thanks to the absence of predators.
