Very much similar to Indian, Sri Lankan, and African dishes, the Maldivian dishes you get to enjoy here are a part of their culture. Not just their tastes, but their names are also unique. Their ingredients mainly include tuna and coconut, and not to forget- ample spices too.

Keemiya 

Dining in the Maldives is never complete if you don't let your tastebuds try out Keemiya. It's a traditional dish in the Maldives. You find tuna, ginger, lemon juice, onions, curry leaves, and mustard seeds in this dish, and this fusion makes Keemiya worth trying out again and again. The dough is made with flour, salt, and oil mixed well with the aid of water.

Huni roshi 

If you plan to have your breakfast at The Nautilus Maldives, Huni roshi is one of those dishes that you will find most probably on their traditional dishes corner. Mas riha 

Since you already know about Dhon riha, you should now know about mas riha. Riha means curry, and mas mean fish in Maldivian terms. Fish, coconut, and starch are present in this dish as the main ingredients. The spices added to mas riha dish include garlic, ginger, peppers, turmeric, and cinnamon. Mas riha is generally served along with rice. (You may also have it with cauliflower- which is also a nice combination)

Mas roshi 

If you are not so into the main dishes, but feeling okay for a quick snack- this is the ideal dish for you. It's basically a fried dough in which the inside is stuffed with a filling made up of smoked tuna, coconut, garlic, ginger, and lime. flour, warm water, oil, and salt are used when preparing the dough.

Kukulku riha 

So, by now you know that riha stands for the word curry. Kukulku is the traditional term for chicken. So yes, kukulku riha means a chicken curry and the specialty is that the recipe is very traditional. In addition to chicken, they add onions, ginger, curry leaves, cinnamon, cumin, and lime juice to this dish. Some Maldivians also add ghee to this dish, which makes it even more appealing.

Garudhihya 

If you like various types of soups, you will surely love this dish as well. Garudhihya is a traditional soup in the Maldives that has chunks of tuna in it. You may enjoy this dish either with flatbread or rice to have the best taste.
