5 good things to do in Ramadan - It's all about strengthening ties with Allah

Many of us know about a holiday called Ramadan which comes annually, but only a few know the real meaning behind it. Ramadan is truly for doing great things because it's one of the 5 pillars of Islam. You may think Ramadan is only for fasting, but Muslims do much more during this holy month.

1

Reciting the Holy Quran

Some of you might find it hard, but the more you recite the Holy Quran, the better it is for you and for those who are around you. Even one or two lines per day are fine, just recite it as you can. If you find it hard to understand the meanings of the lines, make sure you also read a translation.

2

Be happy, make your ones happy

Properties such as La Suite Dubai Hotel and Apartments often host Iftaar events and do not forget to take your friends and family to at least one of them during Ramadan. Hotels in Sheikh Zayed Road are known for great Iftars, so you surely can make your loved ones happier at one of these. Ramadan also makes families have quality time together, so make sure you don't miss out on this chance.

3

Do extra charity

Obligatory zakat is in existence for Muslims, but this Ramadan season requires them to do more and much more! By the word charity, Muslims don't only mean financial aid, but also general assistance to your parents in the kitchen, buying medicine/food for those who cannot afford them and even giving your clothes to someone who needs them. The key thing is to create a smile on a face and a sense of relief. It's the true meaning of Ramadan.

4

Volunteer

Ramadan is all about doing good things. So why don't you volunteer to do good activities with the objective of helping others? There are many teams and organizations out there that help people, and you may be a part of such a worthy act. This will also boost your self-satisfaction because you know you have gone the extra mile to help a needy person in society.

5

Saying no to bad habits

We all are humans, and sometimes mistakes happen from our side. This is inevitable, but what matters the most is that you understand where you went wrong and rectify yourself for the better. Small acts such as arguing, releasing anger through words, gossiping, and humiliating happen normally, but it's always better if you could refrain from those during the Ramadan season. These activities may sometimes hurt other people, so make sure you don't become a part of this negativity.

6

Pray, pray, and pray

If you are a Muslim, you must already be aware that Sunnah prayers develop and sharpen the relationship you have with Allah. So keep praying, and asking for what your heart desires this Ramadan season. God is going to hear you and make all your good wishes come true. Pray on time, no matter how busy you are,and remember God and his glory throughout the day.
