Subheading - Feel spiritual during your fun-filled holiday

Regarding spiritualism, Sri Lanka- of course, holds a special place. Not just because it's a country influenced by Buddhist philosophy, but due to many other reasons. In this country, travelers find many places that are great for those who love to enjoy some spiritual vibes.

1

Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi

Considered to be the oldest tree in Sri Lanka, Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi is a Bo Tree that was planted in 249 BC in Anuradhapura. This is a sacred place of worship for the Buddhists, and this place is considered to be full of blessings as well. If you plan to visit Jaya Sri Maha Bodi during your tour to Anuradhapura, make sure you wear something long and decent.

2

Adam's Peak

Adam's Peak is a spiritual spot that's owned by all religious faiths. Buddhists have their stories around this mountain tower, and Muslims, Christians, and Hindus also have different beliefs about it. So, everyone (without any religious barrier) visits Adam's Peak in Sri Lanka which is also known as Sri Pada. The main pilgrimage season falls from December to May, and if you go there during this season, you will be able to meet a lot of locals, talk to them, and even get to enjoy the food that they specifically prepared for this journey.

3

Mihintale

Well, if you go to Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka, don't miss out on Mihintale- a religious spot located very close by. They say Arahat Mahinda Thero came to Mihintale first with the gift of Buddhism to the country when Sri Lanka was ruled by royal kings. You get the chance to observe a lot of archeological ruins here in Mihintale, and once you reach the peak of the rock, the views are also spectacular.

Gangaramaya Temple

Who says you need to travel miles and miles in search of spiritualism when in Sri Lanka? Even if you don't have a longer vacation to spend in Sri Lanka, you still have the chance to visit one of the most spiritual places because it's located in Colombo. It's the Gangaramaya Temple in the heart of Colombo, which is considered to be a calm place, with a lot of Buddha statues made from different metals. Since Colombo has some of the best places to stay in Sri Lanka offered by reputed hotel chains such as Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, you don't find any accommodation issues here as well.

5

Dambulla Cave Temple

Dambulla Cave Temple is one of the most ancient temples in the country. It's a cave temple that has been preserved since around 2 AD. Here, you get to explore 05 caves, and inside them you can find amazing cave paintings and sculptures of both Buddhist and Hindu leaders.

6

Kalutara Bodhiya

This is also a Buddhist temple, located not too far away from Colombo. The temple is on either sides of the road, on one side you find the Viharaya (the Dagabo) and on the other, the sacred Bo Tree. If you go to the Vihara premises, you will instantly fall in love with the Dagabo because you can go inside it and worship. It's a massive creation, and the location of it right next to the river, makes it more pucturesque as well.
