Abu Dhabi’s Must-See Attractions and Landmarks – The Jewels of Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, is a tidy, productive city with a lovely waterfront setting, with many things to do and see. Keep reading!

1

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

The gorgeous and massive Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which is clad in white marble and is a landmark of the city, is by far Abu Dhabi's most popular tourist attraction. The mosque honours Islamic architecture by combining design elements from Mameluke, Ottoman, and Fatimid traditions. It is stunning and wholly modern. Glasswork, mosaic tiling, and magnificent sculptures were skillfully blended by artists to stunning effect on both the interior and exterior, and it won't take an artist to stand in awe of the design elements. It took more than 20 years to construct, and it wasn't finished until 2007 when it could accommodate 40,000 worshipers.

Louvre Abu Dhabi

This is the most impressive museum in the Middle East, and spans the entire history of human artistic accomplishments, from the Neolithic to the present. The contemporary architecture, with its galleries clustered under a massive silver dome, is a reason to visit in and of itself. The wealth and diversity of art on show, from iconic Picasso paintings to statues from ancient Egypt, is mind-boggling. Together with the permanent collection, which spans 12 galleries, other significant temporary exhibitions are presented annually.

3

Qasr al Watan

The UAE's Presidential Palace, Qasr al Watan was just recently made open to the public, and since then, anyone interested in learning more about the culture, history, and architecture of the UAE should include it on their itineraries for Abu Dhabi. If you want to see how Royalty lives, you must visit this place! The opulent interiors, which feature crystal chandeliers, domes, arches, copious amounts of marble, elaborate mosaic design, and muqarnas ornamentation, are reason enough to go.

4

Ferrari World

After you're done with the desert adventures and lazing away at Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara, it's time to visit Ferrari World! One of Abu Dhabi's top attractions for thrill-seekers and families alike, this branded theme park delivers the excitement of Formula One racing to the city, straight to you. Small children can practice their driving talents, while speed freaks can board the Flying Aces roller coaster. In addition, there is also a collection of Ferrari vehicles, including models from 1947, a tour of the Ferrari plant, and a Ferrari trivia game show, all for car enthusiasts.

5

Warner Bros World

This is one of the best places for families to visit because six "lands" are contained under one roof (the theme park is indoors and air-conditioned), giving everyone in the family something to do. The rides at Warner Bros. World, the newest theme park on Yas Island, are themed after the heroes and villains of its comic books, movies, and cartoons. If you want to experience something different, then this is it!
