This one is for lovers of nature! The park is an internationally renowned, UNESCO-listed wintering site for migratory water birds in Sri Lanka, hosting 197 colourful species of birds each year. For this reason, it is a popular destination for bird watchers, photographers, and ornithologists during the winter since more than 50 migratory species, such as the greater flamingo, arrive in big flocks. Bundala National Park received praise for being a biosphere reserve and animal sanctuary in 1969. However, to this day, the park is one of the most thrilling locations in Sri Lanka for trekking, jeep safaris, and adventure travel.
