Seoul, South Korea’s capital is a famous tourist destination. Dongdaemun is a popular shopping area of Seoul with hundreds of retail businesses making not only tourists but locals visit to shop for discounted clothes. Grand Dongdaemun Gate

Dongdaemun area is named after the grand Dongdaemun Gate which was the eastern gate from the Seoul Fortress in the olden times. This gate is especially outstanding at night when illuminations come out and is a beautiful sight to behold. With traffic flying past and people bustling around, this magnificent gate stands tall retaining the history of times gone by and is admired by visitors at hotels in Dongdaemun.

Gwangjang Market

A part of the old fortress wall runs through the park. Standing at a height of 100 metres Mount Naksan was one of the guardian mountains during the Joseon Dynasty.

This is a large commercial area with a cluster of shopping centres as well as traditional Korean markets around the iconic Dongdaemun gate. Changgyeonggung Palace

Situated about 5 km from Dongdaemun this palace is one of the four main historical palaces in Seoul. As the first greenhouse in Korea designed in a western architectural style, this palace was restored in 2004 retaining its original appearance. A lovely place to admire local and imported plants.
