5 of the Best Hidden Beaches in Pattaya – For a memorable beach holiday in the tropics!

Pattaya – a city located in the province of Chon Buri is renowned for its exotic nightlife and world-renowned beaches which draw in many a crowd. However, if you are after a much more laid-back atmosphere, read on to discover Pattaya’s hidden beaches.

1

Naklua Beach

Offering the perfect combination of seclusion and hints of the excitement of the city, Naklua Beach was once a quaint fishing community. Today, this lovely beach is the perfect getaway spot for those keen on staying far away from maddening crowds.  Naklua Beach can be easily reached from many a resort in Pattaya such as the iconic Avani Pattaya Resort with relative ease. If you are keen on spending some time splashing about in the water, make your way to the northern stretch of Nalua Beach which also happens to be located just a short distance from the bustling Pattaya Beach.

2

Jomtien Beach

Decidedly more laid-back and far less congested than other beaches in Pattaya – Jomtien Beach is located three Kilometers from the main Pattaya Beach. Thanks to being less crowded, Jomtien Beaches' golden sandy shores are very clean. Here beach goers can enjoy long lazy sessions of sunbathing, swimming in the refreshing blue waters of the Indian Ocean, and trying out fun beach sports such as jet skiing and windsurfing. Jomtien Beach is also ideal for families – as there is a popular amusement playground located at the northern end of the beach stretch.

3

Bang Sae Beach

While Bang Sae Beach is quite popular with the locals, this particular beach does not see many tourists. Here despite being less crowded, there are plenty of vendors on the beach, where you can rent beach mats, lounge chairs, tube rentals, and beach umbrellas for your convenience. Consider checking out the many restaurants and roadside kiosks that happen to serve some of the best squid fries, fishcakes, and mussels in all of Thailand’s easter seaboard.

4

Koh Larn

Also known as Coral Island, Koh Lan is located in the south of Pattaya – and happens to be a true tropical paradise. Here, beach lovers can expect to enjoy clean sandy shores, gin-clear waters, and hidden nooks and crannies shaded by swaying palms where they can settle down for the day, and sunbathe to their heart's content with a good book in hand. If one is keen for some excitement why not enjoy a spot of snorkelling or an excursion on a glass-bottomed boat to check out the beautiful and vibrant coral reefs?

5

Wong Amat Beach

If you are intent on sunbathing in seclusion and privacy, then Wong Amar Beach is your best bet. This lovely little beach comes well recommended for those who would like to simply lie down on soft golden sands and enjoy a relaxing session of basking in the tropical sun. Do make it a point to wear adequate sun protection in the form of reef-safe sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, or a visor while also staying well hydrated to beat the heat  - which can be overwhelming.
