The following qualitative study delves into the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on children and families from marginalized groups in Kingston, Ontario. The study utilized a qualitative research format to interview 24 different families with various backgrounds who derive from immigrant, low-income and Indigenous communities. The study results reveal that the COVID-19 pandemic had significantly impacted families, indicating that health inequalities continue to exist within the Canadian healthcare system. It is crucial to advocate for these marginalized communities to get access to resources that are readily available to them as the pandemic had negative after-effects such as financial troubles, social isolation, and food insecurity.

The following study explores how marginalized young people from various backgrounds such as those who were homeless, with a refugee background, from LGBTQ+ communities, Indigenous, low-income, young offenders or youths living with a disability navigate the healthcare system within the digital age. The study conducts a systemic review of 37 studies, and results showed that youths from marginalized groups face stigma and barriers to accessing healthcare services.
