Clark Ashton Smith (1893-1961) was an American writer of horror, fantasy and Science Fiction. He is most notable for being one of the founders of the Cthulhu Mythos along with H.P. Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard and others. Compared to Lovecraft's, Smith's stories tend to focus less on the Cosmic Horror Story and more on the pure exoticism of the setting.
"Clark Ashton Smith" (January 13, 1893-August 14, 1961) was a poet, sculptor, painter and author of fantasy, horror and science fiction short stories. It is for these stories, and his literary friendship with H. P. Lovecraft from 1922 until Lovecraft's death in 1937, that he is mainly remembered today.
