Hidden Places to Visit in Qatar – Seeking the unique treasures

Qatar has been in the news for all the good reasons in the past, giving you plenty of reason to head that way. While you must visit the well-known, touristy areas, here are some unique places to look for.

1

Furwairit Beach

After you've had a few days of exploring the main attractions in Qatar and want to look for something more out of the box, Fuwairit Beach is a great place to start. Although a beautiful location, it is not very well known among tourists, which can also be a good thing! Apart from an amazing view and coastline, this area is known for its peace and quiet. However, you need to be extra mindful of the turtles at the time of the year when they lay their eggs on the beach, and this is the time when the location is closed off for any visitors, so be mindful and check ahead.

2

Sheikh Faisal Museum

Located not too far from many 5-star hotels in Doha, the likes of Souq Al Wakra hotel Qatar by Tivoli, this museum is another hidden gem tucked away on the outskirts of the capital. The museum is worth paying a visit to, undoubtedly, as it is home to a private collection of the Sheikh's life, such as amazing cars and other memorabilia. The best way to get here would be via a car. This museum is revered as one of the only private museums in Qatar. The architecture of the museum is one of a kind.

3

Zekreet Beach

Looking for a secluded spot to spend quality time with your loved ones during your travels in Qatar? Zekreet Beach may be the perfect solution. This hidden gem on the west coast is surprisingly secluded despite its proximity to civilisation. With its rocky coastline and secluded location near the Cuban Hospital, Zekreet Beach is a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. In addition, it's conveniently located near other popular attractions like the film village, making it a must-visit destination during your travels in Qatar. ¬

Al Karaana Lagoon

To get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, visit this man-made lagoon, which was completed in 2019. Home to rare species of birds, this location is now a favourite among bird watchers. Initially, the area was where harmful chemicals and garbage were thrown into, but is now completely transformed and rebuilt, without a hint of its past in display. You will also be able to spot a number of different fish, mangroves and reeds surrounding this area, a true pinnacle of how nature can overcome anything thrown its way!

5

Oxygen Park

Although the name sounds rather peculiar, this is a hidden gem located within the Doha Park itself. Largely unknown by a lot of people, the park is home to many fun activities for kids and stunning views. This is hidden in plain sight, and also boasts a flower tunnel, which is extremely beautiful and rather a delight to see! Additionally, Oxygen Park is a great place to get away from the sun, as the trees provide a safe haven from the blazing rays.
