Showcasing patterns of yellow, white and black across its body and tail, the Moorish Idol can grow up to 25 cm in length and is easily confused with its cousin, the Pennant Coralfish as well as the Schooling Bannerfish. Also, the Moorish Idol resides in both shallow as well as deep waters which makes it one of the more easily identifiable species, regardless of whether one is in the mood for some snorkelling or scuba diving in Maldives such as those on offer at VARU by Atmosphere.

The tentacles serve as both a home and a source of nutrition for the Clownfish.
