Known for its rich cultural heritage and futuristic skyscrapers, Doha is Qatar's increasingly cosmopolitan capital that attracts many a globe trotter. Doha recently having been named as one of the 7 new wonder cities in the world, has much to offer. Here are five places to visit in Doha.

Museum of Islamic Art

Located in the MIA Part of Doha's spectacular waterfront, the Museum of Islamic Art is considered to be a true architectural gem! Designed by acclaimed architect I.M. Pei, the museum showcases the largest collection of Islamic art in the world. Breath-taking interiors complemented by spectacular geometric patterns symbolic of the Islamic world house paintings, ceramics and much more collected from three continents spanning 1400 years. Corniche

An attraction which draws many a local and visitors alike, the Doha Corniche offers plenty of recreational fun. The haunt of joggers, bikers and runners on the daily, the Corniche is a great place to get in some exercise, especially during the morning hours. A beautiful waterfront promenade that definitely reshaped Doha's coastline during the 1970s and 1980s, offers truly astounding views of Doha's ever-evolving skyline and magnificent sunsets come evening time.

Then paying a visit to Aspire Park – one of the largest parks in the Gulf region is a definite must, known for its fine landscapes, Aspire Park is open to the public from 8 am to 12 am and is free to enter. Do make it a point to visit the Torch Tower, another attraction the park has to offer. Rising 300m high in the sky, the Aspire Tower as it's also known as served as a giant torch for the 15th Asian Games.

The famous Katara Cultural Village located on the eastern coast is considered to be one of the best places to visit while in Doha. What's interesting about the Katara Cultural Village is that it is designed to look and exude the atmosphere of a traditional Qatari Al Faraj. The attraction is open to the public 24 hours of a day and requires no entry fee.
