Unlike most beaches in the island nation of Maldives, the stretch of beach that is on the island of Vaadhoo is not meant to be enjoyed basking in the sun and sipping cocktails. Instead, it is one that really comes alive once the sun goes down. Vaadhoo Beach, popularly known as the Maldives’ glow-in-the-dark beach, sees heaps of bioluminescent plankton, which inhabit the surrounding waters and wash up on shore at night, creating a “sea of stars”, and for honeymooners, the perfect setting for a lovely romantic evening.
