Visit Ganga Talao (or Grand Bassin)

This is a crater lake situated about 550 metres above sea level in the mountainous region of Savanne in Mauritius. The temple along the shoreline with a cluster of shrines is dedicated to Lord Shiva and other deities and is venerated by the Hindus and attracts locals and visitors to many devotees during special religious festivals such as Mahashivaratri. This is also a sight with fascinating surrounding views.

At the main entrance which is the Geopark learn about the seven hues of earth, brown, blue, green, red, violet yellow and purple their composition and formations. These cover a relatively small area of dunes comprising sand of these seven distinct colours.
