About Queensland

Situated on the Eastern Coast of Australia is the state of Queensland. After Brisbane, it is the second most populated city in Queensland and the sixth in the country. The most popular coastal stretch is called the Gold Coast. While Surfers' Paradise is a coastal city, famous for surfing and its active social scene. You can also visit the hip suburb of Broadbeach; hotels are great here too! The likes of Avani Broadbeach Residences are some of the places you can check out! For New Year, the Gold Coast is the place to be! The markets have ample parking with waterfront views and provide free entry to all. There is also a thriving entertainment scene that you can enjoy for a great night out! Plus, there is a variety of restaurants and food joints catering to different taste buds.

Spend your day at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

Built in 1947, the sanctuary became part of the Queensland Heritage Register in 2009. It is renowned the world over for its massive flocks of wild rainbow lorikeets who are fed with a special mixture each day! There are plenty of other events as well, like exhibitions, encounters with dingos, bird shows, feeding opportunities, and more. One of the park's famous residents is the enormous saltwater crocodiles! You can also get a behind-the-scenes look into their animal rehabilitation hospital and maybe even volunteer!

Catch the fireworks 

Start the New Year with amazing fireworks overlooking the Gold Coast! Fireworks will illuminate the sky as partygoers throng to say farewell to the year. The New Year's Eve extravaganza includes fireworks, food, drinks and music. The biggest firework display takes place at the barge in  Surfers’ Paradise. You can find plenty of beachside parties there to dance your night away into the New Year!
