The PVC Pipe Association's position paper highlights the health, safety, and environmental benefits of PVC pipes. It emphasizes their adherence to water quality standards, safety in production and installation, recyclability, minimal environmental impact, and lower greenhouse gas emissions. PVC pipes are deemed safer, more sustainable, and environmentally friendly compared to alternatives
PVCO pipe, made from polyvinyl chloride, undergoes mechanical stretching, aligning molecules for greater tensile strength. Despite thinner walls, it matches thicker PVC pipe in pressure capacity. Introduced in North America in 1979, it conforms to ASTM F1483, AWWA C909, and CSA B137.3.1 standards, meeting NSF Standard 61 for potable water.

The user is encouraged to reference the document if more information on external load calculations is needed.
