Madu Ganga Boat Safari

Handunugoda Tea Estate

A charming family-owned estate, representing the island's colonial heritage – Handunugoda Tea Estate is a 200-acre plantation upon which cinnamon, coconut, and rubber are cultivated in addition to its mainstay tea. The estate is famed for being the home of the legendary Virgin White Tea. Today, the tea estate offers a fascinating glimpse of colonial history, while offering insight into how the world's finest tea is produced. Visitors also have the option of checking out the in-house gift shop for beautifully packaged tea as well.

Kurundu Doowa

Also known as Cinnamon Isle, Kurundu Doowa is a lush isle located on the Madu River inhabited by a small family who maintains over two acres of cinnamon plantations. Upon visiting one can learn all about the cultivation of this exotic spice, converse with the friendly planters and discover more about their daily lives.

Ariyapala Masks Museum

Showcasing a splendid collection of traditional masks and related artefacts, the Airyapala Mask Museum is a museum that strives to uphold the unique cultural heritage of mask crafting in the village of Ambalangoda. Apart from taking in a fascinating collection of over 120 unique masks which are used in local religious festivals and traditional dance rituals, one can take in stage-masked plays and presentations as well. The museum also includes a library where one can peruse books and pamphlets on the history of mask making, along with spacious workshops and a retail store.
