05 Adrenaline-pumping things to do with your family in Dubai – Ready for some fun!

Have the allure of gorgeous dinner cruises and wandering along JBR Walk worn off for you? Dubai always has something to offer to amp up the thrill, so don't worry. Here are some things you can try with your family and loved ones.

1

Go up the Burj Khalifa

Standing as the tallest building in the world at 452m, it's no surprise that the views up the Burj are exceptional. However, if you're not thrilled about heights this might not be for you. But once you're a few floors up, you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of the entire city as well as the Persian gulf stretching far beyond. You can access up to the 124th floor with the normal ticket at the lowest price. But if you want to skip the queues and fast-track your journey, you can get a VIP ticket too. If you're looking for something even more exclusive, a premium ticket (three times the price of a normal ticket) offers VIP access to 555m along with free coffee and snacks at the 148th level.

2

Rent a private yacht

Some might say sailing peacefully on a luxury yacht is not an adrenaline-pumping adventure but one of the best experiences in Dubai. These yachts usually sail with 20 people aboard per journey; a ticket is only 20 USD. You can sit on the deck, drink champagne and watch the impressive Dubai skyline sailing past you. If you're checking hotel offers in Abu Dhabi, make sure to look into this too.

3

Winter fun

This is by far the most out-of-the-box adventure you can have here. As you know, white winters with snow are not a natural occurrence here. Emirati winters are identical to their summers; scorching hot. They've come up with an artful solution that defies the very laws of the universe itself; winter sports (with snow, no less) inside their enormous malls! The Dubai Mall is home to one of the largest ice rinks in the world and they even offer classes and training sessions. It's just an hour away from popular hotels such as Oaks Liwa Executive Suites; a perfect day out for your family.

4

Take a speed boat with a view

If you're here on a quick business trip or a transit, you may not have time to explore all the highlights in the city. But with this 90 min speedboat tour, you can zoom past the entire city, covering all the popular attractions in addition to the adrenaline rush of a fast speedboat ride. You can still click great pics for your Instagram feed and slow down to enjoy a mesmerizing sunset.

5

Atlantis Aquaventure Park

Are you a fan of rides that make you scream and cause your fainthearted friends to pass out? If so, the Atlantis water park is the ideal place to be. If you're into more old-fashioned forms of straightforward torture, you can try the Poseidon Revenge; a trap door that suddenly opens and plunges you into a near-vertical 20m drop. If you're more cultured and enjoy history and the arts the Leap of Faith will be more to your speed; designed to look like a Mayan Temple this slide takes you on a fast, death-defying ride straight into a pool filled with sharks. Yes. Fun?
