Unlike in the western part of the world, tickets are purchased on the bus and can only be paid in cash. So, a fair bit of change on you could really come in handy.

Despite the easy accessibility, many tourists to the city are rather reluctant to take taxis thanks to their infamous reputation of deceitful drivers and the strong taxi "mafia" that is supposedly in place. With some patience and luck on your side, finding an honest driver is not entirely impossible, however, nothing can stop them from being susceptible to Bangkok's nightmare gridlock.
