One of the oldest temples in Hong Kong, Man Mo Temple is located on Hollywood Road in Sheung Wan. The dreamy temple was built between 1847 and 1862 and is dedicated to the Holy King Emperor Kwan and King Emperor Man – who are deities worshipped by students and scholars seeking blessings to progress in their studies. Once a military stronghold in the 15th century, Kowloon Walled City was an expansive Chinese garrison which later became the enclave for criminal gangs and fugitives for most of the 20th century. Today, the Kowloon Walled City has been transformed into a beautiful lush park which offers the perfect getaway from the incessant hustle and bustle of the city.
