Best lakes to explore in Whistler – excursions to partake in on a perfect summer’s day!

Whistler, British Columbia overflows in magical landscapes made up of lush stretches of greenery and gurgling waters to settle down to. In fact, its lakes are a popular choice to holiday by.

1

Alpha Lake

Should you be driving up from the city of Vancouver, then scenes of dense jungle and calm waters will surely fall into focus as you arrive in Creekside and the location of Alpha Lake. Having received its name from the 1st letter of the Greek alphabet, the Lake features a lovely park known as Alpha Lake Park where the hours can be whiled away engaged in a host of leisure pastimes. For starters, if travelling with the kids, then be sure to divert their attention towards the kid's playground while the volleyball court and dog park will serve as excellent ways to let go of life's mundanity and surround yourself with the pleasures of Whistler's stunning natural beauty. What's more? You can delight in views of Whistler Mountain before heading off in the direction of your mode of lodging.

2

Green Lake

Being the largest of its kind in all of Whistler, Green Lake is nourished by the glacial waters that pour out from the mountains with the Lake receiving its name as a result of the colour of the water found within its parameters. Though the water is known to be icy cold, come summer you may avail of the services of Harbour Air which offers plane rides where the breathtaking beauty of the environs might be observed from high up in the air. Added to this, there is ample space to bask in the summer heat by the edges of Green Lake as you witness planes swoop in and take off.

3

Lost Lake

Accessible via a trail situated within a stone's throw of Lot 4 along Lorimer Road, Lost Lake is next on the list of the 'best lakes to explore in Whistler.' As you journey over the gravel trail that will soon open out into green fields, you will encounter thick forests along the way and several bikers and hikers to keep you company. Being the closest lake to the village, Lost Lake is also home to an alluring park that affords plenty of reasons to stay on, either by yourself or with those that matter the most to you. From slackline posts to BBQ facilities, the park here can be made into an adventure of its own given that you will have ease of access to many biking trails to show off how good a mountain biker you are

4

Blueberry Docks

Revel in a sense of peace quite unlike ever before at Blueberry Docks which is rated as one of Whistler's most sought-after attractions and leisure destinations. Comprising four docks, the attraction looks out towards the west and in the direction of Alta Lake and Rainbow Park respectively. Ideal for those seeking moments of solace and isolation with only snow-capped peaks and trees watching over you, Blueberry Docks is best enjoyed as part of a picnic where you can pack a host of goodies and unwind amidst one of Mother Nature's finest.

5

Alta Lake

Undoubtedly, the most visited lake in Whistler is Alta Lake which comes complete with various parks and recreational pursuits to spend time with. Found a mere 12 minutes away from Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside which is one of the famous hotels in Whistler BC to stay at, Alta Lake stretches out across from Creekside in the south towards the northernmost section of the village. Due to its size, two-party barges are currently found here with the Lake coming off as the starting point for going boating along the waters of the River of Golden Dreams which connects Alta Lake with Green Lake. Lakeside Park is where family picnics can be delighted in where boat rental service can be availed of. Farther towards the south of Lakeside Park, Wayside Park will arrive as a worthy contender to try your hand at paddle boarding.
