The Terra Cotta Warriors are one of the most famous attractions in Xi'an. These life-size statues were buried with the first emperor of China in 210 BCE. They were discovered in 1974 by farmers digging a well. Today, they are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most popular tourist destinations in China. There are three pits containing the Terra Cotta Warriors. Pit 1 is the largest and contains over 7000 statues. Pit 2 is smaller but still has over 6000 statues. Pit 3 is the smallest but contains the most intricate and detailed statues. Visiting the Terra Cotta Warriors is a must-do when in Xi'an. It is best to go early in the morning to avoid crowds. Admission is free for children under 6 years old, and there are discounts for students and seniors. If you are staying at one of the Xi'an apartments, this place will not be too far away for you.
Located close to lyf Dayanta Xi'an, Giant Wild Goose Pagoda is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Xi'an. It is a beautiful Buddhist temple that was built in 652 AD. The pagoda is seven storeys tall and has a great view of the city. It is a great place to learn about Buddhism and the history of China. The pagoda is made of brick and stone and stands seven stories tall. Visitors can climb to the top of the pagoda for a panoramic view of the city. The temple grounds also feature a museum with exhibits on the history of Buddhism in China.
The Qin Shi Huangdi Temple, also known as the First Emperor's Mausoleum, is located in Lintong County on the outskirts of Xi'an. The temple is dedicated to the memory of Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China who unified the country in 221 BC. The temple complex includes several buildings, most notably the Hall of Supreme Harmony and the Terracotta Warriors Museum. The show is very well done and is a great way to learn about this fascinating piece of Chinese history.
