Bangkok Cocktails Inspired by Thai Culture and Cuisine- Some of the best drinks around town!

If you want to taste Thailand in a drink, check out these concoctions that are sure to tingle your taste buds, just as much as the mouthwatering cuisine the land is famous for!

1

Tom Yum Siam

Thailand's famous Tom Yum soup is the inspiration behind this cocktail. Tom Yum Siam is a mixture of vodka mixed with lychee syrup, lemon grass and chilli. However, it's not as strong as the spicy soup – its fruity, aromatic and spicy aftertaste is exceptionally well-paired.

2

The Siam Mary

As the name implies, it is the Thai variant of the popular cocktail, Bloody Mary. The main ingredients in the drink are tomato juice, Thai chillies, basil, wasabi, coriander, and lemongrass. This spicy and fragrant Siam Mary is quite the potent herbal remedy to soothe any hangover blues.

3

The Zudrangma

Try this tasty cocktail at Felice Pasta & Dessert Bar. Although many of its customers come there to taste its delicious pasta dishes, they have quite a creative drinks list worth exploring! One of the best is the Zudrangma, an easy and delicious blend of fruit juice, vodka and tequila. However, most hotels will have interesting selections available for their guests! The likes of Maitria Rama 9 Hotel are good places to try out some tasty drinks and food while in Bangkok.

4

The Exile

Don't be spooked when the barman takes out the traditional Thai mortar and pestle to prepare this drink. Unlike numerous cocktails that attempt to convey the taste of Thai cooking to drinks, you won't be too overwhelmed by the ingredients found in The Exile's 'Tom Yum' ingredients, which include lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves floating in your glass with soda water, ginger ale and lime. The drink is popular in Bangkok, and even the best Thai restaurant in Bangkok will have variations of it!

5

The Orchard

Discover the Orchard at the atmospheric watering hole called the "WTF". They have an entertaining selection of Thai drinks, like Muay Thai punch, prepared from Sangsom, dark rum, triple sec, orange, grenadine, lime, and sugar syrup. The Orchard is another of their specialities, crafted out of gin, lemongrass and lychee. It's flavourful, and fruity while packing a nice punch without being too powerful.

6

Passion Fruit Caipiroska

Find this cocktail at The Zuk Bar. Passion Fruit Caipiroska is one of their most famous creations. It includes fresh saowarot aka passion fruit, vodka, and lime to start your evening off with a tangy kick.

7

The Hangovertini

This drink can be found at the Distil Rooftop Bar and was created to honour the movie, "The Hangover Part II", shot partly in Thailand. The drink includes green tea liquor, green apple juice, Martini Rosso, and honey with rosemary!

8

Lancastria

You can find this 'posh' sounding drink at Fat Gut'z, which is a fish and chips saloon. The Lancastria is a blend of vodka martini infused with lychee and lemon. Its real uniqueness is the piece of roti sai mai, a type of cotton candy-like dessert accompanying it.
