5 Enthralling Places to Visit in Tangalle for A Super-Relaxing Excursion! – The wonders of island life await

Sri Lanka stands out for its abundance of palm tree-lined beaches and pristine waters. Recent years have seen a dramatic increase in the number of visitors to this country due to the abundance of World Heritage sites found here & its own set of rarities and off-the-beaten-path experiences.

1

Hummanaya Blow Hole

The village of Dickwella, where the Hummanaya Blow Hole is found, is about a 20-minute drive from Tangalle. The Hummanaya Blow Hole, Sri Lanka's largest blow hole, is a fantastic destination for vacationers. Incredible views of the Indian Ocean may be had by travelling to the tranquil town and taking a pleasant 20-minute stroll by a tiny village where sellers serve a variety of drinks and local foods.
When you reach the peak, you'll be awestruck by the sight before you. Watch in awe as the water shoots upward and splatters back into the sea, spraying the curious onlookers. It doesn't matter what time of day it is; the Hummanaya Blow Hole is always a good place to visit on the southern coast, which is where it is located. Be aware that the midday sun can be quite intense, so you may want to postpone your visit until the early evening.

2

Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary

The bird sanctuary is located about 30 minutes outside of Tangalle and features saltwater lagoons, mangrove groves, and plains—ideal habitats for a variety of birds, including open-billed storks, and migrating ducks. The area is home to around 150 different bird species, both native and migratory, so bring your binoculars so you don't miss a thing! The Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including over 20 species of animals and 38 species of reptiles. The sanctuary has a long history and is widely recognised as a vital place for birds of prey.

3

Ussangoda National Park

Along with its stunning scenery, Ussangoda National Park is also significant from an archaeological standpoint. Divine scenery and rare red soil like this can't be seen anywhere else in Sri Lanka. It is also theorised that a meteor or asteroid struck the area many years ago, producing this effect!

4

Mulkirigala Rock Temple

Like the other Buddhist temple, this one is perched atop a rocky outcropping. One of the most important historical sites in Sri Lanka, it is also one of the country's most popular cultural destinations. The incredible rock cave temple, which also features a breath-taking panorama, has grown in popularity as a tourist hotspot.
After a spiritual experience at a temple, you can also enjoy some of the best Sri Lanka spa hotels such as the Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort to really unwind and ground yourself.

5

Talalla South

Visitors often rank the Talalla South beach as one of the island's top attractions. If you're planning a trip to Sri Lanka, you should definitely include this beach in your plans. You can easily spend quality time with your loved ones while swimming or just lounging and getting tanned on the beach.
