Often compared to Central Park in NYC due to its popularity and size, Lumpini Park serves as the lungs of Bangkok and one of the leafiest corners of Sathorn. As the largest public park in the city, Lumpini is free to access and has been since it first opened its doors to the public in 1920. Lumpini Park was built during the reign of King Vajiravudh. A stunning sculpture of the monarch can be found at the western gate of the park. Constructed around a manmade lake, jogging, swan boating and exercising are some of the best things to do at Lumpini Park, which also plays host to countless outdoor concerts throughout the year.
